Virginia Catholic Forensics League

The Virginia Catholic Forensics League

The Virginia Catholic Forensics League, founded in 1954 is open to all schools - public or private - in the Richmond Diocese.  This diocese encompasses all of Virginia, except for the Northern Virginia region, encompassed by the Washington-Arlington Catholic Forensics League.

The Virginia Catholic Forensics League offers monthly competition (except in January) in all Speech events — Extemporaneous, Declamation, Original Oratory, Oral Interpretation of Literature (Poetry and Prose), Dramatic Performance, and Duo Interpretation — as well as Student Congress, Policy Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Public Forum Debate.  All events adhere to the Catholic Forensics League National rules.

Student competitors in the Virginia Catholic Forensics League vie for qualifications for the CFL Grand Nationals, held each year in cities across America.  In past years, CFL Grand Nationals have been held in Boston, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, and New York City.

We encourage participation of all schools in Virginia in this established and exciting forensics program.
